Celebrating Costa Rica’s Talented Artists
Pacuare Lodge inaugurates the Amy Natalie Rojas fine art exhibit

Böëna Costa Rica

At the young age of 19, Amy Natalie Rojas has achieved more acclaim than most of us do in a lifetime. Half Costa Rican and half Swedish, she hails from the small mountain town of Las Brisas de Pacuarito, where the Barbilla National Park is quite literally at her doorstep. Her immersion into the splendor of the natural world from such a young age inspired Amy’s desire to capture its many treasures… with her paintbrush.

Not only are Amy’s paintings infused with talent and masterful attention to detail, but her powers of observation transmitted onto canvas reflect the subtle nuances of her subjects and their interaction with the environment.

Many of her pieces are of wild animals whose images were captured by camera traps set by biologists studying the forests. Others are of the tropical flora and fauna she encountered during sojourns in the Talamanca Mountains and the gardens at Pacuare Lodge. Each piece is accompanied by a brief description of the image’s biological context and its significance to her, the artist.
