Costa Rica recently marked a significant milestone as it celebrated 202 years of freedom and independence on the 15th of September.

Each year on the eve of Independence Day, Costa Rica comes alive with the enchanting tradition of the lantern parade. This cherished event is fervently promoted by educational institutions, serving as a beacon of patriotism that unites communities and fills countless students with boundless enthusiasm and joy. These young participants proudly showcase lanterns meticulously crafted by their own hands, a testament to their dedication and love for their country.

In a heartwarming display of eco-consciousness, all five of our lodges and our San José headquarters joined in this beautiful tradition, crafting lanterns from reusable materials. What's even more inspiring is the involvement of our guests, who enthusiastically lent their hands in lantern preparation while savoring the rich flavors of traditional Costa Rican dishes.
